We envision a neighborhood that is considered by residents and non-residents alike to be a highly desirable place in which to live and enjoy the benefits of family, friends, and community.

The Valle Vista Home Owners Association (VVHOA) of Greenwood, Indiana was created in 1979 as a volunteer community organization.

wHAT HAS THE HOA ACCOMPLISHED?

The mission of this voluntary association shall be to advocate for the interests of its members; to cultivate friendship, good will and cooperation among them; to encourage neighbors to practice public safety-minded behaviors, to support educational opportunities for our community; to promote social and recreational activities for the exclusive benefit of the members; to seek the raising of construction standards and maintenance of housing and surrounding community; to seek favorable utility rates, zoning, street repairs and city, county, and state services; to campaign for neighborhood needs, to cooperate with law-enforcement agencies; and to abide by the purposes and policies of the laws of the United States, the State of Indiana, Johnson County, and the City of Greenwood.

In addition, the board funds the advertising for the spring and fall garage sales, prepares and send out at minimum three newsletters each year, holds an annual meeting for all neighborhood residents with guest speakers to educate on area happenings and safety, provides welcome bags to new residents, maintains a website, and coordinate neighborhood activities like the plant swap. These activities benefit the neighborhood as a whole, and we hope the board's effort to keep them going year after year encourages households to join.

The HOA Board spends lots of time working to maintain the high standards of the Valle Vista subdivision. Through membership dues the HOA can continue working to increase your property investment. Below is a list of the successful projects the board has completed in conjunction with city and local government to improve Valle Vista:

  • Worked with city & IURC to convert failing private sanitary sewer system to public & stabilizing rates
  • Fought to remove expired sewer surcharge
  • Spent 5-7 years working to get streets replaced
  • Stopped adjacent subdivisions from connecting to our streets
  • Fought to keep comparable home zoning in adjacent developments
  • Requested ditches throughout subdivision be cleaned for better water flow & lessen flooding
  • Purchased & installed Crime Watch signs with city approval (2 times)
  • Requested 2-way signs at Hacienda & Granada
  • Upgraded street lights and added 3 new lights for better visibility and improved safety
  • Initiated & obtained repair of street & storm curb inlets where damage was a safety issue
  • Met with adjoining HOAs to discuss the impact of possible street widening on Smith Valley Rd. to 4-lanes and sent feedback letter to the city with concerns
